PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire tool facilitating attaching/detaching work to/from a multi-wire saw device and the like, and having excellent safety during the attaching/detaching work. ! SOLUTION: A wire tool 10 is a cutting tool which has an abrasive grain layer 14 adhered with abrasive grains 12 on an outer periphery of a core wire 11 by synthetic resin 13. Colored coating films 15 and 16 which are hard to get wet with a grinding liquid are provided at parts separated by predetermined length from both end portions 10a and 10b of the wire tool 10. The total length 10L of the wire tool 10 is about 50 km, and the length 15L and 16L of the colored coating films 15 and 16 is about 1 km from the end portions 10a and 10b. Both of the colored coating films 15 and 16 are red, and formed by coating a paint containing acrylic silicone resin on an outer peripheral surface 14a of the abrasive grain layer 14, and drying that for 30 min. under normal temperature. !
