PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire information for retrieval from a display image when a user intends.SOLUTION: An information retrieval device includes: an operation acceptance unit (1); an information acquisition unit (7) which acquires information from a storage location; a display control unit (8) which controls a display unit so as to display the acquired information on a screen; an image acquisition unit (3) which acquires the display image on the screen; an image acquisition control unit (2) which causes the image acquisition unit to acquire a display image after switching when the operation acceptance unit accepts an operation to switch the display image; a recognition unit (4) which recognizes a character string from the acquired image; a storage unit (5) which stores the recognized character string in association with storage location data on information that the acquired image represents in a memory; and an extraction unit (6) which extracts a character string under retrieval conditions that operation details that the operation acceptance unit accepts indicate. The information acquisition unit (7) retrieves the storage location data associated with a character string corresponding to the extracted character string from the memory, and acquires information from the storage location that the retrieved storage location data indicates.
