PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical sensor capable of acquiring much information in an analyte.SOLUTION: The optical sensor includes: an irradiation system that includes a plurality of light source modules LM and irradiates an analyte with light; and a detection system that detects the light propagating in the analyte and coming out of the analyte and includes a plurality of detection modules DM. The plurality of light source modules LM can emit a plurality of (for example, two) linear polarizations having different polarization directions toward the analyte at different timings. In this case, the optical sensor can acquire much information in the analyte.
