摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving device for a brushless motor which is small-sized, reduces cost and is capable of obtaining detection accuracy of a magnetic pole position similar to 120° electrification even in low-speed rotation, and a driving method.SOLUTION: A driving device includes: a first counter which performs counting at edges of a first pulse signal and a second pulse signal when the first pulse signal and the second pulse signal are inputted from a position detection sensor for detecting a change in a magnetic flux of a sensor magnet, and resets the count when a reset signal is inputted; a rotor stop magnetic pole position estimation part for estimating a magnetic pole position of a rotor from an electrification time of an electrification pattern of a current that flows to the coil of a plurality of phases; and a rotor electrification pattern switching part which sets the magnetic pole position of the rotor estimated by the rotor stop magnetic pole position estimation part to a temporary position of the reset signal and resets the count of the first counter.
