PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce torque fluctuation when compression operating state is changed over to a double-cylinder compression operating state in a rotary compressor that can be changed over between a triple-cylinder compression operating state having three compression elements to compress three compression elements and a double-cylinder compression operating state having two compression elements to compress two compression elements.SOLUTION: This invention includes a changing-over mechanism for changing-over a triple-cylinder compression operating state in which three compression elements are operated in compression and a double-cylinder compression operating state in which a compression of one compression element is stopped and double compression elements are operated in compression. In this invention, an angular differenceθbetween eccentric segments 22a, 22c at the two compression elements in their eccentric directions operated in compression during the double-cylinder compression operating state is in a range of 120°≤θ≤155°.
