PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating burner oscillation method in gas pressure welding of a rail for a railroad capable of securing sufficient heat input to a joining interface and a prescribed amount of compression in order to secure the quality of a gas pressure welding joint; and to provide an oscillation device.SOLUTION: In a heating burner oscillation method in gas pressure welding of a rail for a railroad, the oscillation width at an oscillation part is set at 20-40 mm, and the oscillation start timing is set at 10-80 seconds after start of compressive deformation.
