<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a surface-treated metal film excellent in brilliancy, rust prevention, and peeling resistance, and further to eliminate the possibility that the sharpening and projection of the metal film on impact make a dangerous situation to a human body.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method for an impact resistant automobile component, which requires resistance against an impact and keeps the surface treated with an island-like metal film which follows a substrate deformation caused by impact, includes: a step of forming a substrate 11 in an original form of an impact resistant automobile component; a step of forming a metal film 13 by performing electroless plating on a base coat layer 12 deposited on the substrate 11; a step of forming an island-like metal film composed of an aggregate of fine metal regions 14 of island structure and having visibility of an integral brilliant surface by splitting the metal film 13 in discontinuity with cracks 15; and a step of coating the fine metal regions 14 of the island-like metal film to form a light-transmitting top coat layer 16 in contact with the base coat layer 12 by penetrating into the cracks 15.</p> |
