The purpose of the present invention is to manufacture an electrode for a battery including: a sheet body (S) which functions as a current collector; a first active material layer (P1) having a plurality of first strip-shaped portions (P11) which are arranged to be extended along a first main surface (S1) of the sheet body (2) and are arranged to be placed from each other; and a second active layer (P2) having a plurality of strip-shaped portions (P21) which are arranged to be extended in a lengthwise direction along a second main surface (S2) opposite to the first main surface (S1) of the sheet body (S) and are arranged to be placed from each other. In the sheet body (S), the second strip-shaped portions (P21) cover the second main surface in regions having gaps (G1) between the first strip-shaped portions (P11) on the first main surface (S1) while the first strip-shaped portions (P11) cover the first main surface (S1) in regions having gaps (G2) between the second strip-shaped portions (P21) on the second main surface (S2).
