<p>The present invention relates to an improved process for the preparation of hexaferrite powder. The invention particularly relates to the preparation of single phase Srl.. xLaxFeu.xCoxO19( 01~10.8)p owder by microwave-assisted combustion method followed by electroless coating. This hexaferrite powder offers coercivity and magnetization value more than 6500 Oe and 50 emu/g, respectively at room temperature. This bottom up approach enables to control the particles in nanometer scale. The average particle size of the as prepared and calcined powder is 10 nm and 120 nm, respectively. It is envisaged that the prepared powder is useful for making high performance permanent magnet and memory storage device.</p> |
