The present invention relates to a registration method, such as registration of biometric data in a database wherein each data item includes an information vector related to biometric features, and a mask vector for determining bits of the information vector to be considered for data comparison, the method includes an application of substitution to the bits of the vectors, the method further includes a step of encoding the vectors by using a registration code, the substitution is applied to the encoded vectors, the encoding comprises the steps of: displaying each bit of the mask vector in a sequence of various bits so that a weighted average of displays of all bits of the mask vector is constant or statistically constant regardless of the values of the bits of the mask vector; and displaying each bit of the information vector in a sequence containing at least a bit randomly derived, and the randomly derived bits are in compliance with the same distribution rule as the bits of the information vector do. In addition, the present invention also relates to a database and a method for acquiring data wherein the method for acquiring data includes encoding in order to compare the data with data in the database. |
