The present invention provides a chain tensioner capable of supplying necessary and sufficient oil for restarting after not supplying oil for an extended period of time since the chain tensioner has a simple structure and can increase the degree of freedom for supplying oil, being miniaturized by shortening the whole length, being easily manufactured, and reducing manufacturing costs. The chain tensioner (100) biases a plunger (120) inserted into a plunger receiving hole (111) of a tensioner body (110) by a biasing unit (140), which is installed to be able to extend in a press oil chamber (101), in a protruding direction. A lower oil chamber (123) is formed on a side that protrudes more than a check valve (150) in a plunger main body (126). A connection control groove (103) forming an oil supply space (102) is formed on the inner circumference of the plunger receiving hole (111). |
