The present invention provides a HMD device and an operating method thereof which can reduce fatigue of a wearer or protect eyesight of a wearer. The HMD device may include: a display for displaying content; a first information obtaining unit for obtaining HMD device information generated in relation to content provision; and a control unit for displaying a notification about whether to suspend content provision by using HMD device information and for suspending content provision in response to a request for suspending content provision.
