[Class 80 (iv)] The transmission of horizontal vibrations is prevented by resiliently suspending machinery 1 on lateral bolts 3 which allow pivoting movements at the lower end in at least two dimensions. To this latter end a partspherical joint 6, 7 may be used, or a spring 8 may be placed at the lower end of the bolt. Two helical springs 4, one on each side of the bolt, support the heads of the bolts on the floor 5. A rope or chain 9, Fig. 4, may replace a bolt, and a spring 4a may be used instead of the device shown at the right hand side of Fig. 1.
