The present invention provides a switching signal error processing device for the cutter of a POS system printer and to a controlling method thereof. The method for controlling a switching signal error processing device for the cutter of a POS system printer according to the present invention comprises: a first process of turning on a mechanical switch for a certain time by operating the switching lever of a gear while simultaneously conducting the cutting operation of a cutter; a second step of transmitting a signal telling that the cutter has moved to an initial cutting point of time, to a microcomputer by operating a switching module, which interlocks with the switching operation of the mechanical switch, together with the mechanical switch after the first process; a third process of allowing a switching detection sensor, which has been installed on one side of the body of the mechanical switch, to detect the state that the switching lever of the gear is in contact with the mechanical switch, and transmitting the state to the microcomputer during the second process; and a fourth process of recognizing that the cutter has returned to the initial cutting point of time and simultaneously issuing a warning signal telling that currently an error has occurred to the mechanical switch, through a warning part to the outside if a detection signal is input from the switching detection sensor or the switching module as a detection signal has not been input into the microcomputer from the mechanical switch after the third process. The present invention has multiple switching modules, which can precisely recognize the turning on/off of the mechanical switch, installed on the microcomputer of a POS terminal in addition to the mechanical switch for controlling the cutter for a printer. Therefore, the malfunction of the cutter caused by the switching contact defect of the mechanical switch can be prevented in advance and the operating stability of the POS terminal can be maximized while reducing unnecessary waste of sheets. |
