An objective of the present invention is to carry out, with good precision, a video recognition process relating to a stereoscopic video signal which is received from outside. Provided is a video receiving device (40) which is configured to carry out transmission and receiving of data via a communication network (16), comprising an input unit (65), a video extraction unit (45), a stereoscopic signal generating unit (66) which is a video signal generating unit, and a control unit (41). The stereoscopic signal generating unit generates, from a component video which is extracted with the video extraction unit, stereoscopic video signals of one or a plurality of formats different from the component video. The control unit generates content recognition information from the component video and/or the stereoscopic video signals which are generated with the stereoscopic signal generating unit, and carries out a control which requests the video recognition process of the content recognition information of a video recognition device (20). |
