SCREENING METHOD OF THERAPEUTIC AGENT FOR NEURODEGENERATIVE DISEASE USING GAUCHER'S DISEASE MODEL DROSOPHILA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide Gaucher's disease model drosophila and a screening method of a therapeutic agent for neurodegenerative disease.SOLUTION: The screening method of the therapeutic agent for the neurodegenerative disease includes: administering a test substance to a mutant-type drosophila having mutation in a homologous gene of glucocerebrosidase gene and exhibiting accumulation of glycolipid compared with a wild type; and, when the accumulation of the glycolipid is reduced and/or the duration of life is elongated compared with a case without administering the test substance, selecting the test substance as a candidate substance of the therapeutic agent of the neurodegenerative disease.
