Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for encoding video using depth information. The method for encoding video using depth information according to an embodiment comprises the steps of: extracting depth value distribution information of a current largest coding unit (LCU); predicting division structure candidates of the LCU on the basis of the depth value distribution information; and determining the optimum division structure from among the division structure candidates of the LCU on the basis of at least one of the coding efficiency and picture quality.
