On the basis of a table stored in a storage unit, a derivation unit acquires image capture parameters that correspond to order information received by a receiving unit, and programs the parameters into a radiation source controller. In accordance with the programmed image capture parameters, the radiation source controller controls a radioactivity source and captures a radiographic image. An acquisition unit acquires actual values of the image capture parameters from the radiation source controller. On the basis of the actual values of the image capture parameters, the derivation unit derives virtual grid characteristics. An execution unit acquires the captured radiographic image through a detector controller. On the basis of the virtual grid characteristics derived by the derivation unit and the acquired image capture parameters, the execution unit performs virtual grid processing on the acquired radiographic image, and generates and displays a radiographic image from which the effects of scattered radiation have been eliminated.
