A marker for identifying cerebral malaria, said marker being based on the state of olfactory bulb or comprising a factor in the CCL21-CXCR3-CCR7 signal transduction system such as CCL21, CXCR3 or CCR7 or an expression product thereof, a fragment thereof or a derivative thereof; a detection agent for identifying cerebral malaria, said detection agent comprising a substance binding to a factor in the CCL21-CXCR3-CCR7 signal transduction system such as CCL21, CXCR3 or CCR7 or an expression product thereof; and a medicinal composition for preventing or treating cerebral malaria, said medicinal composition comprising an inhibitor of a factor in the CCL21-CXCR3-CCR7 signal transduction system such as CCL21, CXCR3 or CCR7.
