A self-suspending proppant. The self-suspending proppant has a water-soluble polymer material covering or partially covering a granular aggregate. The aggregate is a solid particle provided with sufficient mechanical strength for bearing crack closure stress and is chosen from one or multiple types of quartz sand, ceramsite, metal particles, spherical glass particles, sintered bauxite, sintered aluminum oxide, sintered zirconium oxide, synthetic resins, coated sand or crushed shell particles. An amount of the water-soluble polymer material is 0.1-5wt% of an amount of the aggregate. The auto-suspended proppant does not need to use fracturing fluid having added organic polymers and expensive for fracturing, but directly uses natural water that can be obtained at any place for fracturing, thereby reducing pollution, lowering costs, decreasing friction of the fracturing fluid, and enabling a fracturing propping system using the self-suspended proppant to have performance that is basically the same as existing fracturing fluids, and is easy to transport and recover. |
