PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motor in which a detent force can be reduced.SOLUTION: A linear motor 100 includes a cylindrical yoke 10, a rod 20 inserted into the yoke 10 in the axial direction thereof, a plurality of teeth 12 projecting from the inner peripheral surface 11 of the yoke 10, and arranged at regular intervals in the axial direction thereof, slots 13 formed between the adjoining teeth 12, a plurality of coils 30 disposed in these slots 13, and permanent magnets 21 held, side by side in the axial direction of the yoke, by the rod 20. The yoke 10 is configured so that a reference number of slots 13, determined depending on the number of phases of an AC current conducted through the coil 30, are arranged repeatedly, and the n-th tooth 12 from the yoke end, determined by the formula (1), is provided with a width adjustment section for adjusting the teeth width. |
