<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photosensor including a visible light emitting element capable of displaying an abnormal conveyance position or the like of paper in the vicinity of the photosensor and capable of controlling the emission of the visible light emitting element without increasing a wiring quantity, and to provide a paper handling device including the photosensor.SOLUTION: The photosensor comprises: an invisible light emitting element 11 used as a light emitting element of the photosensor; a visible light emitting element 13 for display, receiving current in parallel to the invisible light emitting element 11 from wiring 16 for supplying current to the invisible light emitting element 11; and a level shifter 14 which is connected to the wiring 16 in series with the visible light emitting element 13, causes the invisible light emitting element 11 to emit light but turns off the visible light emitting element 13 when current or voltage supplied from the wiring 16 is equal to or less than a predetermined threshold, and which causes the visible light emitting element 13 to emit light when current or voltage exceeding a predetermined threshold is supplied from the wiring 16. An inherent forward drop voltage included in the visible light emitting element 13 itself may be used as a function of the level shifter 14.</p> |
