<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the stress on a developer in an upstream side area of a regulation position caused by a developer regulation member, and reduce unevenness in image density.SOLUTION: A developing device includes a developing sleeve 141 that has a magnet roller 147 and a cylindrical doctor 146 that is composed of a cylindrical magnetic material for regulating the thickness of a two-component developer carried on the developing sleeve 141. The magnet roller 147 includes a developer-empty upstream pole N2 and a developer-empty/draw-up/regulation pole N3 that are adjacent to each other, have the same polarity, and generate a magnetic force for separating the two-component developer having passed through a developing area from the developing sleeve 141. The N3 pole is arranged at a position approximate to the cylindrical doctor 146 with respect to the N2 pole on the downstream side in a direction of conveyance of the developer by the developing sleeve 141, draws up the two-component developer from the inside of a developer storage unit 149, and naps the two-component developer on the developer carrier regulated by the cylindrical doctor 146.</p> |
