DISPLAY METHOD AND DISPLAY PANEL

A display method and a display panel. The display panel comprises multiple rows of subpixels (9). Adjacent subpixels (9) in the column direction differ in color and differ in position in the row direction by 1/2 of a subpixel (9). The display method comprises the following steps: S1, generating an original image consisting of a matrix of virtual pixels (2); S2, matching the virtual pixels (2) to sampling positions (8), where in each row of sampling positions (8), two sampling positions (8) are also included between any two adjacent sampling positions (8) corresponding to the virtual pixels (2), in each row of sampling positions (8), the sampling positions (8) corresponding to the virtual pixels (2) are located on a same column, and, between every two rows of adjacent subpixels (9), each sampling position (8) corresponds to a position between two subpixels (9) in one row and at the middle of one subpixel (9) in another row; and, S3, calculating display components of the subpixels (9) on the basis of the original components of corresponding colors of the virtual pixels (2) corresponding to the subpixels (9). The display method and the display panel are applicable in high-resolution display.
