The present invention relates to a room temperature-curable aqueous coating composition improved in adhesion, and especially secondary adhesion, to a foundation coating film. The present invention provides a room temperature-curable aqueous coating composition that contains (A) an aqueous emulsion obtained by subjecting a monomer mixture that contains (a) diacetone (meth)acrylamide and (b) an unsaturated monomer able to be copolymerized with the component (a), with the quantity of component (a) being 4-40 mass % of the overall mass of monomers, to emulsion polymerization in the presence of a chain transfer agent, (B) hydrazine and/or a hydrazine derivative and (C) an aqueous urethane polymer, wherein the content of the hydrazine and/or hydrazine derivative (B) is a quantity whereby the equivalent quantity of hydrazino groups in the hydrazine and/or hydrazine derivative (B) is 2 equivalents or less relative to 1 equivalent of the diacetone (meth)acrylamide (a) used to polymerize the aqueous emulsion (A). |
