The present invention relates to a method for supplementing tooth brushing and flossing by using a composition containing an emulsifier and stabiliser, such as sorbitol (C6H14O6), in an amount of up to 70% by volume, and also and mainly containing solid abrasive particles having a suitable sphericity and diameter, for example silicon oxide particles (SiO2), in an amount of up to 30% by weight, besides other, optional compounds such as surfactants, viscosity regulators, sweeteners, preservatives, colorants, bactericides, anti-cavity agents; the composition reaches interdental spaces by vigorous mouth rinsing for several minutes, cleaning all the tooth surfaces and spaces between the teeth which would be reached by tooth brushing and flossing, and thus can be called liquid dental floss. |
