<p>Described are pipettes (10, 1 10, 210, 310, 410, 510) capable of dispensing both high volumes of liquid and highly accurate smaller volumes of liquid wherein the accuracy of the volume of liquid delivered increases along the length of the pipette (10, 1 10, 210, 310, 410, 510). Embodiments of the pipette (10, 110, 210, 310, 410, 510) include an elongated body (12, 112, 212, 412, 512) with an outer surface (14, 114, 214, 414, 514) an inner surface (16, 116, 216, 416, 516) defining a lumen (18, 1 18, 218, 418, 518) within the elongated body (12, 112, 212, 412, 512), a proximal orifice (20, 120, 220, 420, 520) at a proximal end (24, 124, 224, 424, 524), a distal orifice (28, 128, 228, 428, 528) at a distal end (30, 130, 230, 430, 530). The intermediate portion (32, 132, 232, 432, 532) includes a first generally frustoconical-shaped portion (36, 136, 236, 436, 536) defined by a first inner diameter (Dl) proximate the proximal end (24, 124, 224, 424, 524) of the elongated body (12, 112, 212, 412, 512) and a second inner diameter (D2) proximate a second end (40, 140, 240, 440, 540) thereof.
