An air conditioner (100) is provided with a body (1) having suction openings (2a, 2b) and a discharge opening (3), the body including a front face (1a), a rear face (1c), an upper face (1b), a lower face (1d), and a pair of side faces (1e), the suction opening being formed in any of the front face, the upper face, and the side faces, the discharge opening being formed in the lower face without extending to the front face, the upstream side of the discharge opening serving as a discharge air passage, the front face side of the discharge air passage being formed by a diffuser, the diffuser having, in a side view, a portion located at a distance from an imaginary line extending from the upstream part of the diffuser, the distance increasing toward the downstream side of the diffuser.
