A fuel nozzle includes: an outer body (36) extending parallel to a centerline axis (26), having a generally cylindrical exterior surface (88), forward and aft ends (82, 84), and a plurality of openings (94) through the exterior surface (88); an inner body (32) inside the outer body (36), cooperating with the outer body (36) to define an annular space (96); a main injection ring (24) inside the annular space (96), the main injection ring (24) including fuel posts (104) extending therefrom; each fuel post (104) being aligned with one of the openings (94) and separated from the opening (94) by a perimeter gap (1 10) which communicates with the annular space (96); a circumferential main fuel gallery (76) in the main injection ring (24); and a plurality of main fuel orifices (78), each orifice (78) communicating with the main fuel gallery (76) and extending through one of the fuel posts (104).
