With a conventional analytical chip having multiple reaction portions, there was a concern that when the cover was removed from the substrate subsequent to the reaction, the solution containing the analyte would flow into adjacent reaction portions, resulting in commingling. Particularly when analytical chips were used in testing/diagnostic applications, there was a risk of testing/diagnostic results being significantly affected, such as the occurrence of false positives and the like. According to the present invention, the substrate and/or the cover that constitute the analytical chip is provided with grooves which, when the plurality of reaction portions into which a solution containing an analyte has been introduced are sealed by the cover to produce a sealed space, form gaps of a shape surrounding the outside of the openings of the reaction portions, thereby preventing leakage or commingling between adjacent reaction portions, which frequently occurs when the cover is removed from the substrate. |
