Provided is a method for forming a Wi-Fi Peer-to-Peer (P2P) group using Wi-Fi Direct. The method includes acquiring device information of other P2P device corresponding to a connection target by P2P devices that will form a Wi-Fi P2P group; checking a type of the other P2P devices based on the acquired device information; adjusting an intent value of a P2P device depending on the checked type of the other P2P devices; and forming a Wi-Fi P2P group based on the adjusted intent values of the P2P devices.

receiving, at a first device, power information from a second device, the power information indicating a power type or an available running time of the second device; determining whether the first device becomes a group owner or a group client based at least in part on the power information; and forming a wireless communication group including the first and second devices, the forming including setting the first device as the group owner or the group client of the wireless communication group according to the determination.
