According to an embodiment of the present invention, an optical element includes a first optical section, a second optical section, and a first connecting region. The first optical section has a first surface and a second surface, which is on the reverse side of the first surface, said first optical section transmitting light. The second optical section has a third surface, which faces the first surface, and which is spaced apart from the first surface, and a fourth surface on the reverse side of the third surface, said second optical section transmitting light. The first connecting region connects together at least a part of an end portion of the first optical section and at least a part of an end portion of the second optical section, and which connects together the first optical section and the second optical section in a seamless manner, said first connecting region transmitting light. The first surface and/or the second surface includes a part that is tilted with respect to a plane perpendicular to the first direction toward the first optical section from the second optical section. |
