Provided is a tape cartridge which makes it possible to definitively detect thickness without requiring a large space for a detectable part. A tape cartridge (100) to be mounted in a tape printing device (1) in which a cartridge mounting section (5) is provided with a plurality of thickness detection switches (65) for detecting the thickness of the tape cartridge (100), wherein the outer-circumferential surface of a cartridge case (130) is equipped with a plurality of detectable parts (180) which face each of the thickness detection switches (65), and each of the detectable parts (180) has: a concave section (182) for causing a non-detection operation of the thickness detection switches (65), and extending from the near end in the mounting direction to a fixed position (186) indicating the thickness of the cartridge case (130); and a sliding section (188) for causing a detection operation of the thickness detection switches (65), and extending from the fixed position (186) to the far end in the mounting direction. |
