The present invention relates to a solar cell and a manufacturing method thereof. The solar cell according to the embodiment of the present invention includes: a semiconductor substrate; emitter parts located on the back surface of the semiconductor substrate; rear electric field parts; first and second electrodes; an insulating layer located on the back surfaces of each of the first and second electrodes; and a conductive adhesive located on the back surfaces of each of the first and second electrodes. The insulating layer includes a first insulating layer located on the first electrode and a second insulating layer located on the second electrode. The width of the first insulating layer is same as the width of the first electrode. The width of the second insulating layer is same as the width of the second electrode. Also, the manufacturing method of the solar cell according to the embodiment of the present invention includes: a step of forming a metal layer on the back side of the semiconductor substrate; a conductive adhesive applying step of applying the conducive adhesive to the back surface of the metal layer; an insulating layer applying step of applying the insulating layer to both sides of the conductive adhesive in a first direction; and an etching step of etching a part of the metal layer excluding the insulating layer and the conductive adhesive, to be separated from the back surface of the semiconductor substrate and forming the first and second electrodes extended in the first direction.
