PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convey a recording medium while suppressing insufficient sag of the recording medium in a recording device capable of conveying a roll-shaped recording medium in a sagging state.SOLUTION: A recording device includes: a sending-out part 2 for rotating and sending out a roll-shaped recording medium M; a conveying belt 3 for conveying the recording medium M sent out from the sending-out part 2; a sag sensor 15 for detecting a sag state in the recording medium M sent out from the sending-out part 2 to the conveying belt 3; and a control part 14 for performing low speed conveying control for controlling the conveying belt 3 so as to decrease the conveying speed for the recording medium M by the conveying belt 3 and convey the recording medium M when the sag sensor 15 detects insufficient sag of the recording medium M for a period of a first time t1 or more.
