PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector capable of preventing foreign matter from coming into contact with an insert element and also reducing inserting force when the insert element is inserted into an opposite-side terminal.SOLUTION: A connector 1 includes a rod-shaped insert element 2 to which the opposite-side terminal is fitted from the front, a housing 50 having a cylindrical accommodation part where the insert element 2 is accommodated, an insulating contact preventive member 6 provided between peripheral walls 55 and 56 of the terminal accommodation part 5 and the insert element 2, and freely sliding in a direction of terminal fitting between the opposite-side terminal and the insert element 2, and an elastic member 7 energizing the contact preventive member 6 toward a front end of the insert element 2. The contact preventive member 6 has a tapered surface 64a, inclined radially outward, backward in the direction of terminal fitting. |
