PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus that determines an important person irrespective of the number of appearances and performs image layout, an important person determination method, an image layout method and program, and a recording medium.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus detects face images from a plurality of pieces of image data, performs same person determination processing on the basis of the plurality of face images, classifies the plurality of face images into image groups each consisting of the face images of the same person so as to specify persons corresponding to the image groups, determines at least one person from the specified persons as the main character, and determines at least one person highly related to the main character from the persons other than the main character as an important person. |
