Provided is a slide-fastener-opener attachment method capable of attaching an opener to a continuous fastener chain. In this opener attachment method, inside edges in a space (5) in a fastener chain (1) at a midpoint in the conveyance direction are punched to form punched sections (8), an opener is provided to a section located further towards the upstream side in the conveyance direction than the punched sections (8) in the space (5), the opener is held and the fastener chain (1) is moved in the conveyance direction to insert, into the opener, side edge parts of pieces of fastener tape (2a, 2b) located further towards the upstream side in the conveyance direction than the punched sections (8) in the space (5), and the opener is subsequently swaged to attach the opener to the side edge parts of the pieces of fastener tape (2a, 2b). |
