This rearward visibility checking device comprises a main body case, a display device and a camera. The main body case is attached in an area in front of the driver's seat in the vehicle cabin. The display device has a display surface, and is mounted on the main body case. The camera is connected to the display device, and can capture images to the rear of the vehicle. The display device is provided with a backlight arranged inside of the main body case, a liquid crystal display device arranged in a position nearer to the display surface than the backlight, and a color filter plate arranged in a position nearer to the display surface than the liquid crystal display device. The color filter plate comprises a transparent substrate, multiple color filter elements arranged on one surface of the transparent substrate at a prescribed interval, and reflective surfaces provided between the color filter elements. |
