PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gel electrolyte excellent in balance between ion conductivity and gel strength.SOLUTION: There is provided a vinylidene fluoride copolymer obtained by copolymerization of at least one fluorine-based monomer selected from hexafluoropropylene and chlorotrifluoroethylene, a vinylidene fluoride and a compound represented by the formula (1), wherein in the copolymer, the compound represented by the formula (1) is produced by adding in portions or continuously to the vinylidene fluoride and the fluorine-based monomer.
