<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can provide glossiness at any portion of an image, and can provide uniform glossiness even if there is a difference in surface height in a glossiness provision target area.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a heating member 1, an endless belt 4, a pressure member 3 that is in pressure contact with the heating member 1 across the endless belt 4 to form a fixing nip part N, cooling means 7, and a post-processing toner image creation part that is arranged on the upstream side of the fixing nip part N of the endless belt 4. The image forming apparatus conveys a recording material P while bringing the recording material P into contact with the endless belt 4 at the fixing nip part N, transfers a fused post-processing toner 6 to the recording material P, and peels the recording material P from the endless belt 4 cooled by the cooling means 7 to provide glossiness to the recording material P; and further includes means 11 and 12 for detecting the surface height of a portion of the recording material P to which the post-processing toner 6 is adhered, and determines the amount of the post-processing toner 6 to be adhered according to the detected height.</p> |
