<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for virus inactivation which inactivate viruses rapidly.SOLUTION: A virus inactivation method is characterized by irradiating viruses with UV light with the radiation center wavelength of 280±5 nm. More specifically, the virus inactivation method comprises collecting viruses floating in a gas or present in a liquid with a filter and irradiating the filter with the UV light. Still more specifically, in the virus inactivation method, a first electrode to be applied with a voltage and a second electrode arranged so as to face the first electrode are arranged in a passage through which air containing viruses flows, and the filter is arranged between the first and second electrodes or in the downstream in the virus-containing air's flowing direction relative to the electrodes. With a voltage applied to the first electrode, viruses are caused to pass through both electrodes so as to collect them with the filter.</p> |
