<PICT:0461475/IV/1> <PICT:0461475/IV/2> Relates to the treatment of textile articles, such as hosiery, gloves, and the like, in liquid or vapour baths, and consists in mounting the articles on forms grouped in non-touching relationship and in a plurality of superposed layers, and immersing them simultaneously in a bath of substantial depth. A frame 5, 6 of a shape to fit the bath has at one side a spindle 7 on which a number of bars 15 are pivoted side by side. The bars, which can be held in a vertical position by a rod inserted in a notch 8, carry a number of forms 19 which are horizontal when the bars 15 are in vertical, or operative, position. Each form is carried by a plate 18 pivoted to the bar 15, and all the plates 18 of one bar 15 are interconnected by a rod 22. When loading a frame with, for example, stockings, each bar 15 in turn is moved to a horizontal position and the forms 19 are turned at right angles to the bar. When all the bars have been loaded and returned to vertical position, the frame is deposited in the bath by a suitable hoist. The complete plant may comprise a hoist, two vats or baths, and three frames. The forms 19 may be fitted with shields as described in Specification 455,194.
