The present invention relates to a lithium sulfur battery having a positive electrode for a lithium sulfur battery with a space forming layer, more specifically, to a lithium sulfur battery having a positive electrode for a lithium sulfur battery for enabling a space forming layer to function as a buffer layer. The lithium sulfur battery comprises a positive electrode for a lithium sulfur battery having the space forming layer. The lithium sulfur battery holds polysulfide generated during charging or discharging in the space forming layer to prevent elution of the polysulfide to an electrolyte, thereby increasing initial charging or discharging efficiency and durability of the lithium sulfur battery. The space forming layer can be used as a current collector to manufacture a lithium sulfur battery of a lowered weight or a reduced volume.
