PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of efficiently processing formation of an organic compound layer at high speed by an ink jet system.SOLUTION: In a method for forming an organic compound layer by an ink jet system, a composition 604 containing an organic compound having luminosity is discharged from an ink head 601 and continuous organic compound layers 605 are formed. The organic compound layers are formed on pixel electrodes arranged in matrix, and the organic compound layers are formed continuously over a plurality of pixel electrodes. Then, a light-emitting device using the organic light-emitting element is manufactured by this manufacturing method.
