Provided is a technology whereby an object can be quickly recognized. This POS terminal apparatus is provided with: an image pickup unit, which picks up an image of an object, and generates an image; a display unit that displays a guide display for guiding, in the predetermined direction, the object in the image; a determining unit that determines whether there is at least a part of the object in the image or not; and a control unit that controls the display unit to display the guide display in the cases where there is at least the part of the object in the image.
