A current control method applied to a terminal device. The method comprises: obtaining, by a terminal device, connection information about an external device connected thereto, and determining the type of the external device according to the connection information; when it is determined that the external device is a power supply device, adapting the input current thereof according to the rated output current of the external device and the rated input current thereof, and receiving a power supply from the external device according to the adapted input current; when it is determined that the external device is a power receiving device, adapting the output current thereof according to the rated input current of the external device and the rated output current thereof, and supplying power to the external device according to the adapted output current. Meanwhile also disclosed is a terminal device. |
