PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for scheduling recording of a program to be broadcast in the near future.SOLUTION: A DVR transmits information showing a set of programs to a server. In accordance with reception of the information from the DVR, the server determines a "to-do" list of programs to be recorded by the DVR when the programs are broadcast in the future. The "to-do" list shows times of day and channels on which the respective programs are recorded. The server returns the "to-do" list to the DVR via the Internet. The DVR receives the "to-do" list via the Internet and stores the "to-do" list. When the program on the "to-do" list is broadcast, the DVR automatically records the programs on the channel specified in the list on the specified time of day. The DVR stores the programs to a hard disk drive of the DVR for later viewing by a user. |
