This vertical circulating conveyor is provided with a descending path section (3) and an ascending path section (4) which connect to the ends of a linear conveyance path section (1) and return path section (2) positioned on the top and bottom, and is characterized in that a front wheel descending guide rail (8A) which guides the front wheels (F) of a platform car (5), and a rear wheel descending guide rail (8B) which guides the rear wheels (R) of the platform car (5) are provided in the descending path section (3), and in that a segment is provided in which, while guiding the front wheels (F) by means of the front wheel descending guiderail (8A) and the rear wheels (R) by means of the rear wheel descending guiderail (8B), the platform car (5) in the descending path section (3) moves downward by falling by its own weight without power such that the platform car (5) maintains an approximately horizontal state, and after falling along the descending path section (3) by its own weight, the platform car (5) coasts, unpowered, along the return path section (2). |
