The invention relates to smart packaging with respect to food and beverages. The smart package includes at least one battery and/or energy storage element and/or energy receiving element; an element configured to store information; an element configured to sense being touched; an element configured to display information and/or an element configured to generate light; an element configured to receive and/or transmit information; and circuitry electrically one or more elements of the package to one another. In some embodiments, the smart package includes at least one sensor configured to sense a property of the smart package and/or contents of the smart package. These elements of packaging enhance the value of the packaging of food and beverages. |
